Faisal's doctoral research addressed the complex challenge of resource management and scheduling in vehicular networks — the communication infrastructure that underpins connected and autonomous vehicles. As vehicles become increasingly intelligent and networked, managing the allocation of communication resources (bandwidth, spectrum, computing capacity) in a dynamic, mobile environment becomes critical for both performance and safety.
The thesis developed algorithms and frameworks to efficiently schedule and allocate resources in vehicular network scenarios, accounting for the highly dynamic topology, strict latency requirements, and heterogeneous communication demands of modern vehicle-to-everything (V2X) systems. This work contributes to the applied software and systems engineering foundations of intelligent transportation.
