Teaching was one of the key reasons I transitioned from industry to academia. My goal is to graduate engineers who can develop responsible software solutions. I hold a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from Deakin University and am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Leadership
As Director of Education for the Software Systems & Cybersecurity department at Monash, I lead curriculum transformation toward three strategic priorities — Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Agentic Software Engineering — preparing graduates for an AI-native industry. I oversee teaching allocation across all SSC academic staff, balancing research, teaching, and service loads fairly and transparently, and chair the annual strategic planning workshop with industry partners to keep curriculum connected to employer needs and emerging technology directions. A commitment to staff wellbeing and workload equity is embedded in department culture, recognised through the SSC Education Awards. The overarching goal is to graduate engineers equipped to navigate both the technical complexity and the ethical dimensions of building AI-enabled systems.
